1. PURPOSE

At Turbionaire, product safety is one of our highest priorities.
This Product Safety & Compliance Policy explains our commitment to designing, manufacturing and supplying products that comply with applicable legal requirements and recognised safety standards within the markets where they are sold.

It also explains how customers can contribute to the safe installation, operation and maintenance of our products throughout their useful life.

Nothing in this Policy limits your statutory rights under applicable law.

2. SCOPE

This Policy applies to Turbionaire products purchased through:

www.turbionaire.com;
 authorised Turbionaire distributors;
 authorised retailers.

It applies throughout the product lifecycle, including:

 purchase;
 installation;
operation;
 maintenance;
• repair;
• disposal.

3. OUR COMMITMENT TO PRODUCT SAFETY

Turbionaire is committed to:

  • designing products with safety as a fundamental requirement;
  • complying with applicable European product safety legislation;
  • continuously improving product quality and reliability;
  • monitoring product safety throughout the product lifecycle;
  • cooperating with market surveillance authorities where required;
  • taking appropriate corrective action whenever a product safety risk is identified.

Product safety is an ongoing process and forms part of our quality management approach.

4. PRODUCT COMPLIANCE

Where required by applicable legislation, Turbionaire products are designed and manufactured to comply with relevant European legal requirements.

Depending on the product category, this may include compliance with legislation relating to:

  • General Product Safety;
  • CE marking;
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC);
  • Low Voltage equipment (LVD);
  • RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances);
  • WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment);
  • REACH;
  • Ecodesign (ErP), where applicable;
  • Energy Labelling, where applicable.

Compliance requirements may vary depending on the product model and the market in which it is placed on the market.

5. PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION

Each product is supplied, where applicable, with documentation intended to help customers install, operate and maintain it safely.

Documentation may include:

  • User Manual;
  • Installation Guide;
  • Safety Instructions;
  • Technical Specifications;
  • Warranty Information.

Customers should read these documents before installing or operating the product.

6. SAFE INSTALLATION

Many Turbionaire products require correct installation to operate safely and efficiently.

Customers should:

  • follow the installation instructions;
  • comply with applicable national electrical and building regulations;
  • use appropriate installation materials;
  • verify compatibility before installation.

For permanently installed products such as HRV systems and built-in extractor hoods, installation by a qualified professional is strongly recommended.

7. SAFE OPERATION

Products should only be used:

  • for their intended purpose;
  • within the operating conditions described in the user documentation;
  • using the specified electrical supply;
  • with genuine or approved accessories where required.

Products should not be used if:

  • visibly damaged;
  • emitting unusual smoke or smell;
  • exposed to flooding;
  • modified without authorisation.

If any of these situations occur, discontinue use immediately and contact Customer Support.

8. MAINTENANCE

Regular maintenance contributes to:

  • product safety;
  • performance;
  • energy efficiency;
  • service life.

Depending on the product, maintenance may include:

  • cleaning grease filters;
  • replacing carbon filters;
  • replacing HEPA filters;
  • cleaning air inlets;
  • checking ventilation ducts.

Failure to perform routine maintenance may reduce product performance and, where damage results directly from lack of maintenance, may affect the Commercial Warranty.

9. PRODUCT MODIFICATIONS

Products must not be modified unless expressly authorised by Turbionaire.

Unauthorised modifications may:

  • reduce safety;
  • impair performance;
  • invalidate regulatory compliance;
  • affect eligibility under the Commercial Warranty where the modification caused the defect.

This does not affect mandatory statutory rights.

10. PRODUCT RECALLS AND SAFETY NOTICES

If Turbionaire identifies a product safety issue requiring corrective action, we may issue:

  • a Safety Notice;
  • updated installation instructions;
  • software or firmware updates (where applicable);
  • repair campaigns;
  • replacement programmes;
  • product recalls.

Where reasonably possible, affected customers will be contacted using the contact information available to us.

Safety information may also be published on www.turbionaire.com.

11. COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS

The safety, quality and performance of counterfeit products cannot be guaranteed.

This Policy and the Commercial Warranty apply only to genuine Turbionaire products purchased from Turbionaire or authorised sales channels.

Customers are encouraged to purchase products only from authorised retailers.

12. GENUINE SPARE PARTS

For safety and reliability reasons, Turbionaire recommends the use of genuine spare parts.

Non-genuine components may:

  • reduce performance;
  • create safety risks;
  • affect compatibility.

The use of third-party components does not automatically affect statutory consumer rights. However, defects directly caused by incompatible components are not covered by the Commercial Warranty.

13. ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

Turbionaire supports environmentally responsible product design.

Where applicable, products are developed taking into account:

  • energy efficiency;
  • repairability;
  • durability;
  • responsible material selection;
  • recycling requirements.

Our objective is to reduce the environmental impact of our products throughout their lifecycle.

14. END-OF-LIFE DISPOSAL

Electrical and electronic equipment should not be disposed of with household waste.

Where applicable, products marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol should be collected separately and disposed of through authorised collection systems.

Customers should follow local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.

15. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Customers contribute to product safety by:

  • reading the supplied documentation;
  • installing products correctly;
  • using products only as intended;
  • carrying out routine maintenance;
  • reporting suspected safety issues promptly;
  • using appropriate replacement parts.

16. REPORTING A SAFETY ISSUE

If you believe that one of our products presents a safety risk, please stop using the product (where it is safe to do so) and contact us immediately.

To help us investigate, please provide, where available:

  • product model;
  • serial number;
  • proof of purchase;
